Where did Xmas go?
It feels like months ago. Did I miss it?
The mulled wine calm before the storm..
So here we are again. Xmas Eve and a strange sense of calm has descended on the Wilson household. It could be the mulled wine or it could be the fact that Bucky has planned everything with military precision!!
Cupboards bulging, turkey chilling and the wine is decided upon ..
Prosecco for breakfast .. a nice Reisling for the bird and a cheeky bordeaux for the Pud. Ah joy!
Tracking Santa on noradsanta.org is lots of fun too.
Chinese to come & then 3 hrs sleep before the children get up!
Happy Xmas one and all. See you on the other side.

My gripe on buses ..
You see, most days when commute home from London, it involves a bus journey to the train station. There are 2 buses that work on my route that actually terminate in the train station .. last stop .. everyone off .. there is no more etc.
What I find irrational, and what drives me mildly potty is that these are like all buses in London fitted with bells to alert the driver that you would like to get off at the next stop.
Firstly, what’s the point? They stop at all the stops any way.
Secondly and more importantly, is the number of people that press the bell as the bus is approaching the train station. It’s last stop. It’s like a church on a Sunday morning.
These are all commuters. Like me they probably take the same bus every day. Do they think the driver will forget to stop? Do they think that just once, the route might have changed and the bus will keep going. Do they not think it odd that every day at that final stop, every single person on the bus gets off?
I’ve started positioning myself by the bell to see if I can see who it is and actively stop them doing it. See the panic in their eyes when they can’t reach the bell!
Drives me bonkers.
I have a cunning plan ..
You see, Trees has a penchant for writing with girly coloured pens .. pinks, turquoise that kind of thing. It turns out however, that if she leaves the paper out in the sun, it becomes vanishing ink!
There was various tantrums as it became clear that notes and lists had disappeared until I came up with a blinding cost saving plan!
I’m off to buy a generic xmas, birthday, valentines etc card and one of those pens. Then, just write the card – pop on the window sill and voila – ready for the next time!
I’ll save a fortune.
I know she’ll be pleased. I think that’s what she said.
An autumn adventure

Yesterday we went to Winkworth Arboretum. Just outside Godalming .. National Trust. Fabulous autumn colours and afternoon sunlight. A wonderfully tranquil place.
Daddy took the push chair off-roading with limited success & mummy took pics until the battery ran out on the camera (accompanied by a small tantrum from mums!).
Don’t have the hot chocolate from the tea room though.
We’re now the proud owners of some gently rotting leaves and chestnuts. There’s a pine cone somewhere in the car as well.
Stop Press .. the Bowling results are in!

Emily is 2 today .. blimey!
Happy birthday to you etc…
Hard to believe that little Ems is 2 already. Much excitement over Peppa Pig books and toys.
Happy days.
Thanks for all the cards and presents .. much appreciated.
School photos
They are being taken today, and Ellen & Megan are scheduled to have their pic taken together.
Based on their weekend behaviour, we will be the proud owners of a picture of 2 children fighting.
That’s one for the mantelpiece.
Oh joy.
